Registration for the 2016 MI-ALA Annual Conference, Shaping Our Vision: New Possibilities for Academic Libraries in Michigan, to be held May 12-13^th at Central Michigan University has filled. An enthusiastic response by MI-ALA members combined with first-year conference space limitations caused seating for the inaugural conference to fill quickly. The board is hopeful that this year’s positive response is an indicator for potential growth for the conference next year. 

 

Reading Redefined
On behalf of the Conference Program Committee, we would like to invite you to submit a proposal for “Reading Redefined: Deep Reading, Learning, and the Impact of Digitization”. The event will be held in Lansing, Michigan at the Lansing Community College West Campus on September 30, 2016.
 This program is an opportunity for librarians, educators, and others interested in understanding the ways that reading is changing to gather, debate, and learn.
 
We invite program proposals from February 1, 2016 to March 31, 2016.
 
Program proposal submissions should be 30 minutes in length including time for questions. Please submit a 150-200 word proposal for your presentation here.


The Michigan Archival Association (MAA) Program Committee is currently seeking poster proposals for the 2016 conference. The 2016 conference will be held June 16-17, 2016, in East Lansing, Michigan, with the poster session scheduled for 10:15-11:00 on Thursday, June 16.

Participation is open to all, including students!  You do not have to be an MAA member to present. 

If you have an idea, please let us know! Send us your name, topic idea, and a brief description of your poster to me, Caitlin Brennecke (cait.brennecke@gmail.com), by April 30, 2016.
