Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) is seeking an innovative, student-centered Reference & Instruction Librarian to join our unified residential and online library team in Marion, Indiana. This is a 12-month, full-time administrative faculty position perfect for a librarian who thrives at the intersection of high-touch pedagogy and emerging technology.
The Impact You'll Make
• Multi-Modal Expert: Provide elite research support across all platforms—from in-person consultations to Microsoft Teams sessions for global online learners.
• AI Thought Leader: Serve as the library's lead resource on the ethical use of Generative AI in academic research and curriculum design.
• Curricular Partner: Collaborate directly with faculty to integrate information literacy and "Personalized Search Plans" (PSPs) into undergraduate and doctoral programs.
• Mission-Driven Service: Support a diverse, faith-based community with a spirit of hospitality and academic excellence.
What You Bring
• Required: An ALA-accredited MLIS/MLS and a vibrant, personal relationship with Jesus Christ (aligned with the Wesleyan tradition).
• Instructional Savvy: Demonstrated experience in academic reference and the ability to translate complex research concepts for diverse audiences.
• Technical Agility: Proficiency in virtual collaboration tools and a desire to lead initiatives in AI literacy.
• Preferred Perks: Experience with doctoral-level research support, youth/children's literature, or copy cataloging.
