University of Michigan - Dearborn Mardigian Library

What are you currently reading? I am currently reading a few different graphic novels: Hakim's Odyssey, Creepy Cat, and Unretouchable.

What are your research interests? I am really interested in censorship and book banning in school settings, information literacy, the history of libraries, and multiculturalism, decolonization, feminism, gender, race, and queer studies in library spaces.

Do you have hobbies or interests outside of the library? In my free time, I enjoy writing, reading, playing on the Nintendo Switch, reading tarot cards, doing yoga, listening to podcasts, hanging out in coffee shops/bookstores, doing work with my local TimeBank, riding my skateboard/bike, and catching up on TV.

What drew you to the library profession? I had an avid interest in working for libraries after spending 6 years as a teen volunteer at my local library, and I wanted to work with the public in a setting where I can help them find the resources they need.

What do you value about MiALA? I value the connections I am able to make through MiALA through the committees, interest groups, and conference opportunities.
