What are you currently reading? I am reading Circe by Madeline Miller, Erotic Stories for Pubjabi Widows by Balli Kaur Jaswal and Feminist Pedagogy for Library Instruction by Maria Accardi. What are your research interests? Data visualization and communication, the Standards for Libraries in Higher Education. Do you have hobbies or interests outside of the library? I have been taking piano lessons for about a year. I also love hiking and going on walks with my dog! I've been part of a very active book club for the past 5 years as well! What drew you to the library profession? I have always really liked helping people and giving them information that they need. I really value helping student research and helping them understand how to use the information they are finding. I also really enjoy my assessment work because it helps the staff at my library make decisions and improve programs and collections! What do you value about MiALA? I really enjoy the community of MiALA. I have been pretty actively involved since I first joined and there is such an amazing support system. It has been such an inspirational group as well! I also love attending the conferences and workshops because I always come away with new ideas that I can take to my institution! |
