What are you currently reading?
I'm doing a reading challenge this year so am currently reading 2 books (soon to be 3 as a MelCat request is coming soon!)
1. Fleetwood: My life and adventures in Fleetwood Mac (a book written by a musician)
2. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. (Ghost Story)
3. The Woman in the Mirror A.J. Finn (Book becoming a movie in 2019)

What are your research interests?
I like to hear about ways libraries reach out to today's students and engage them in using the library over the web for their research needs. I dabble in financial information as well. I'm even toying with the idea of becoming a Certified Financial Planner.

Do you have hobbies or interests outside of the library?
I officiate high school sports, specifically Football, Volleyball, and Basketball. My rule is if you yell at the ref, learn some basics of the rules. I'd be happy to share specifics for anyone who asks. Contact me and let's chat! Yes, that was pass interference in the Saints/Rams game.

What drew you to the library profession?
I worked at the MSU Science Library (2West) as a shelver. They created a new position of reference desk assistant and I was hooked. It was great to work alongside the talented librarians they had then, and I thought that this was a career I could do.

What do you value about MiALA?
The grassroots approach is what I find most interesting. The Interest Groups that allow people to get involved are pretty unique and fun. They even allow goofs like me a chance to chair a committee.

Is there anything else that you would like to share?
Step up and complete a member spotlight questionnaire. As a member-driven organization, we need to hear about the members. I'm sure there are some interesting stories out there!
