Prior leadership experience IGCC Member, 2024-Present MCLS Linked Data for Libraries Users Group Steering Committee, 2023-Present American Theological Library Association Technical Services IG Steering Committee, 2010-2015 Why would you like to serve on the IGCC? I believe the Interest Groups are the lifeblood of MiALA. It has been my privilege to serve on the IGCC these last two years and seeing the requests for program support that our IGs submit. I would like to be able to continue working with the IGCC in supporting and developing the Interest Groups. What would you like to gain from your time on the IGCC? N/A | |

Prior leadership experience: I am an active member of the Health Science IG since its formation in 2019, serving as Vice-Chair from 2019-2022 and Chair from 2022-2024. I also have leadership experience in many capacities at the national level, most recently as the Chair of the Animal and Veterinary Information Specialist Caucus of the Medical Library Association. Why would you like to serve on the IGCC? I would like to serve on the IGCC to build my leadership within MiALA and use my previous experience as an IG Chair and Vice-Chair to provide guidance to current interest groups. I would like an opportunity to foster engagement among IGs and encourage collaborative activities at the annual conference and throughout the year. What would you like to gain from your time on the IGCC? As a member of the IGCC I would like to gain knowledge of the interest groups and their priorities for the future. I also hope to gain hands-on knowledge of how the IGCC functions in collaboration with both the IGs and the Board and help guide association-wide activities and planning. |

| Prior leadership experience: I have participated in and created a number of IGs since the formation of MiALA (Assessment, Critical Librarianship, Instruction & Information Literacy, Open Educational Resources, Outreach, Upper Level Leadership, Web/UX). As my roles changed at my institution, so did my participation in these groups - that's the beauty of these groups! I have served in various roles - chair, co-chair, and member over the years. Why would you like to serve on the IGCC? The existence of Interest Groups is inherent in the role and value of MiALA for library professionals and students. Interest Groups serve as a way to connect with and learn from our colleagues across the state. They are a way to inform ways of moving forward in our individual institutions and career paths. In recent years, I've had to step back my participation in IGs due to a position change and staffing challenges at my institution, but as things start to settle here at Aquinas College, I find that I once again have space in my calendar (and brain) to devote to committee work. I'm interested in serving on this council so that I can play an active role in helping to maintain and working to improve the ease of participating in and formation of Interest Groups in our organization. What would you like to gain from your time on the IGCC? As a member of this council, I'd take satisfaction in being a resource for anyone interested in or actively participating in or forming Interest Groups. I'd also welcome the opportunity to help improve the experiences of IG members. |
