Grounded and Growing

The need to grow and change is a constant for libraries as we respond and adapt to our evolving academic environments. As we celebrate 5+ years of MiALA and look towards the future of the organization, we will explore the ways academic libraries are initiating and managing change, not just redefining and reevaluating, but growing from a place that is grounded in our strengths and aligned with community needs. How do we continue what is working and critically examine and pivot from what is not?

2021 Conference Rates

Full Conference Registration - $50 for MiALA, ALAO, and MHSLA members, Free for LIS Students, $75 for all others. All conference attendees will have on-demand access to breakout and poster session recordings for up to 60 days after the conference.

*****NEW for 2021 - If you join MiALA when you register for the conference, not only will you be able to pay the discounted member rate but your membership will continue until June 30, 2022 (giving you up to three extra months of membership). *This offer is for first time members!

Keynote Speaker

The conference planning committee is excited to announce that Von Washington Jr., Executive Director of Community Relations for the Kalamazoo Promise will be this year's Keynote Speaker. For more information on Von and his presentation is available on the keynote speaker page.

Poster Session Information

The deadline to submit a poster session proposal has passed. 2021 approved poster descriptions are available on the poster session description page! For information on guidelines to submit a poster session proposal, be sure to check out the poster session guidelines page. Breakout Session Information

The deadline to submit a breakout session proposal has passed. Information on this year's presentations is now available on the breakout session description page! To view the breakout session schedule, check out the schedule at a glance page. To learn more about presentation types/topics that will be accepted as well as other important information that you should know if your proposal is accepted, be sure to check out the breakout session guidelines page. Volunteer Opportunities

The Conference Planning Committee is looking for volunteers to help moderate breakout sessions. Click here to submit your interest in serving. Moderators will be expected to attend one of four presenter/moderator practice sessions (dates/times are listed on the volunteer form). Code of Conduct

MiALA is committed to creating and supporting inclusive, diverse, and equitable conference participation, task forces, and Interest Groups (IGs). In March 2021, the MiALA Board approved the Annual Conference Code of Conduct presented by the IDEA committee. Participants and presenters will be expected to agree to abide by the Code of Conduct (located here: https://miala.org/ac_code_of_conduct.php) upon registration.
