Preparing for Takeoff: Health Sciences Pre-Conference
The MiALA Health Sciences Interest Group and Michigan Health Sciences Libraries Association (MHSLA) are pleased to announce and open registration for a special pre-conference event on May 15: Preparing for Takeoff: Health Sciences Pre-Conference! The Pre-Conference takes place ahead of the MiALA Annual Conference “Where Ideas Take Flight.”
The Pre-Conference will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 11:30am - 4pm at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine (WMed) in Kalamazoo: 300 Portage Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Parking is graciously being provided by our hosts and registrants will be sent directions, parking information, and a map closer to the Pre-Conference.
Pre-Conference Schedule: 11:30am: Arrival and Check-in/Registration 12 - 1pm: Lunch & Mini-Training Talks from EBSCO and Elsevier 1 – 1:45pm: MHSLA Business Meeting (Note: elections and annual business meeting will take place in the Fall as usual) 2 – 4pm: CE Course: AI, Higher Education, and Medical Librarianship: Opportunities and Risks presented by Michael Flierl, Associate Professor and Student Learning Librarian at The Ohio State University Libraries (2 MLA CE credits). Cost:
Free for current MHSLA and MiALA members
$25 for non-MHSLA or non-MiALA members
Pre-Conference Registration: Please register using the online Pre-Conference registration form by Monday, May 6. Lunch and 2 CE credits from the Medical Library Association are included for all Pre-Conference registrants.
**Please note that registration for the Pre-Conference is separate from the MiALA Conference registration; the May 15 Evening Reception at 5pm is also only included with MiALA Conference registration.
