MI-ALA membership meeting - June 19, 2015

Hello!
The Interim Board of MI-ALA has two exciting announcements.

First, we’re planning our first annual spring meeting, and we’d love to see you there. It’ll be held on Friday, June 19, from 9:30 – 4:00 at the University Center at University of Michigan – Dearborn. Cost is $15. While we’re still in the planning stages, we know that we’ll dedicate some time to presenting the progress we’ve made so far, allowing sections to meet and formulate their paths forward, and to introducing the newly elected leadership. This event is open to current members and non-members alike.

Elections!

Our second announcement: It’s election time. There are a number of open leadership positions available, and we’ve worked out an election calendar:
  • April 27 – May 11: MI-ALA accepting nominations for all open positions
  • May 12 – 18:  MI-ALA membership notified of nominees
  • May 18 – June 1:  voting
The open positions and terms are as follows:
  • President (2 yr – 1st as president, 2nd as past-president)
  • VP (3 yr – 1st as vice-president, 2nd as president, 3rd as past-president)
  • Secretary (3 yr)
  • Representatives
    • 1 Community College (2 yr)
    • 1 Public University (2 yr)
    • 1 Private College (2 yr)
  • Section Chairs
    • Administration (2 yr)
    • Collections (2 yr)
