MiALA invites you and your colleagues to submit proposals for presentation at the 3rd annual conference to be held May 17-18, 2018 in East Lansing, Michigan. Please consider sharing your innovations, creative endeavors, and practical solutions for sustainability in academic libraries. How do we sustain ourselves within the profession? How do we sustain our libraries and institutions? How do we work (or what is our obligation) environmentally and socially? How do we sustain our community?
Participation from librarians, library staff, LIS students, and administrators from all types of academic libraries is encouraged.
Proposals will be accepted for the following presentation formats:
Full Presentation (40 minutes)
Panel Presentation (40 minutes)
Facilitated Discussion (40 minutes)
Workshop (40 minutes)
Mini-Presentations (20 minutes)
Lightning Talk (10 minutes)
Along with presenter(s) information, program proposals must include title, presentation format, topic tags, abstract (up to 75 words), description (up to 300 words), learning objective(s), and intended audience (up to 25 words). Proposals will be evaluated on relevance to the conference theme, impact on academic librarianship, originality, creativity, clarity, and applicability of content and outcomes.
Presentations will be organized by topic and/or format, and will be scheduled to fill 50 minute blocks of time, including 10 minutes of Q&A.
Program proposals will be accepted through December 15, 2017. The primary contract listed on the submitted proposals will be contacted about the status of the proposed presentation by January 26, 2018.
To be eligible for consideration, you must be an individual or student member of MiALA to submit a proposal and all proposals must be submitted using the online submission form by the deadline (December 15, 2017). The call for presentation proposals is now closed.
